The Legacy of the Conference

The C5 conference will not be a one-off event. In addition to being a specialist conference where delegates get information, training, networking and the motivation to work on climate change communication, delegates will, after the on-line event, continue to engage on climate change communication works.

This will be the legacy of the event: the C5 conference will start a robust scheme titled "Commonwealth Climate Change Training Initiative" (CCCTI), to be undertaken over an initial period of 6 years, which is now being developed. In the context of CCCTI, training on matters related to climate change (direct, open, distance and by means of blended learning) may be flexibly organised and undertaken in Commonwealth countries.
